Changes to Mortgage Disclosure Requirements

Coldwell Banker - Sold!The Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA) was passed by Congress in 2008 and contains provisions that amend the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). These provisions change requirements surrounding early and final disclosures to homebuyers and address the timing of when fees can be charged. These provisions become effective for all primary residence or second home applications on or after July 30, 2009 and a summary is provided below.
